The biggest day for Skittlez Crew, Remix 2008! November 14, 2008. Teresa Yuchengco Auditorium, DLSU. Remix 2008 is the annual inter-Lasallian (DLS-College of St. Benilde included) dance competition between the very best non-professional dance crews of De La Salle University. It is hosted by the Cultural Arts Office and the La Salle Dance Company. This year's theme was "Stepping for Life", promoting healthy living through dancing.
22 teams signed up. 7 made it into the finals. The finalists are Skittlez Crew, Crew A615 (CSB Champions), Z-Ave, Raindrops on a Sunny Day, Heels on Fire, Crewdose, and AftaSkoo.

In light of our 10th month together, we both decided to have a nice dinner at Max's, at SM San Lazaro, after my practice with Skittlez, and hers with LSDC-Jazz. A pretty great date! :)
The food! :) Crab and Corn Soup Max's Barbecued Chicken with Java Rice Max's Fried Chicken Having dessert, pandan/coconut special with vanilla ice cream. Gosh, how sinful! :P The food at Max's was pretty incredible. :) I think that they serve the best grilled chicken (Reyes Barbecue fans will get me for this), but I really think the way Max's barbecues their chicken is better. The servings were alright, about typical here in the Philippines. Another plus for Max's was that the place looked a lot better as compared to other chicken places. Dessert was divine! :D They're a little under-staffed, but the service was still reasonably quick. :)
Watched this last week, when I was down with a fever. A lot (and I mean, WAY) better than the Eric Bana "Hulk" in my opinion. More action, less talk. LOL. Special effects and CGI were top-notch, and Edward Norton, just like in Fight Club, was brilliant. I suppose what set it apart from the Bana film was the glorious slugging match between Norton's Hulk against the 'abomination' (not sure of the name). It was something new I guess, since most one-on-one fights employ weapons all the time; these two just had their fists for most of the fight.
Appearance of Tony Stark (Ironman) at the end suggests a possible sequel. I hope there's one. :)
Watched the first James Bond of Daniel Craig (I know, I didn't watch it 2 years ago because I was against the fact that he's blond; Bonds have always been dark-haired, and I like Bond traditions, like the Omega watches, Aston Martin cars, and the quintessential martini), and I must say I was not too impressed. That does not necessarily equate to 'the-movie-sucked'; merely that Craig has a long way to go before portraying Bond like Connery, Moore, and to an extent, Brosnan, did.
Plot development, as always, was very good. Action-scenes were quite new, as Bond has never been known to be a parkour (free-running) practitioner. I think the script-writers took a little liberty with Craig, making his Bond a little grittier. Not too bad, I suppose, but I'm sure Bond fans would probably take some time to get used to it. I know I will. I did not like the Bond girl for this movie. Didn't really complement Craig very well, and they were needlessly romantic. Bond is a slick player, not a heart-melter. Still, it was a James Bond movie. :)
It's good to see LaBeouf grow up and take a more mature role in this flick. Plot evolution was really good, and the action scenes are heart-stopping. CGI and special effects are some of the best I have ever seen in a movie, and that says a lot. :) The ending could be a little more exciting, and the 'villain' was slightly anti-climactic, which I would say is the only negative thing about the movie. Also, it's a thought-provoking film because the circumstances are entirely possible.
A not-too-hyped about horror movie, this was a waste of time. Apart from not being scary (seriously), the poor acting and over-direction really ruined an acceptable plot. I would have forgiven this movie for those, even if it was alright in some parts, but the awful climax CGI was really bad. A tacky movie made worse by tackier effects.
