Gun Show
La Salle had a gun show.
For ROTC (which I assumed was something like the NS we have back in Malaysia), different weapons were being displayed. There were guns, equipment, models (of ships, not female officers), and scarred Rangers in uniform.
I had fun in the assault rifle section.
Nice guns.
Don't mess with St. Co.
Some big firepower.
Don't fart.
So yeah, it was pretty cool. *grins*

Achilles
I tore my Achilles tendon.
Wednesday morning. I walked around my pad with a massive pain at the back of my ankle. I knew it was the Achilles but I didn't quite know what caused it. I sucked it up and went to La Salle.
I managed to reach South Gate from Estrada Street and by that time the pain was just horrendous. Unbearable. *sigh* I managed to hobble my way to the school clinic and collapsed in pain.
The nurse asked me to replay my past 24 hours and then I realized maybe I just did my ankles no justice. If you are familiar with La Salle's layout, you'd understand. I went up to 10th floor in Andrew 3 times from the ground floor. Walked from Andrew to La Salle Main 4 times back and forth. I had basketball at 220pm in the Sports Complex, followed by volleyball, running, and kicking around the ball. More walking around campus, then more walking to get to my jeep station. Then it's 5 floors to my pad. Over-strained Achilles tendon, or Achilles tendonitis. It hurts. The nurse and doc refused to give me painkillers. Apparently, they know how much it hurts so they had to give me the strongest one, which might cause an allergic reaction. *sigh*
I should be fine in a little under a week, but I'll definitely be late for many classes. *sad*
Wish me well.

24092007
Horrid day.
Aside from my favorite class, English Communication (ex-teacher here, no duh) with Professor Chanco, today was pretty much a day from hell.
We were dismissed early, and I found myself with nothing to do, so I decided to help out Trish, Ara, and Xyra with their collage project. Alright, cool, so that was done. Things just went downhill from there.
At the La Salle clinic, they told me that they cannot grant me a physical exam because I came late. Apparently the doctor's only in at 8am up to 1030am. Newsflash! I have classes! Oh well, see you on Wednesday.
At the Registrar's office, I went to collect my ID. The ticker counter was at 101 and mine was 119. Alright, I'll wait. After a decidedly uncomfortable time between two noisy ladies in the seats, it was my turn. Well what do you know? ID cannot be released unless I submit my physical exam report. The wonders of red tape.
Now that really pissed me off. *grr* It's a long walk from La Salle Main to Andrew (the name of my building) but whatever. My next class was Math. In class, in perfect timing while doing the hardest questions, my stomach decided that maybe lunch was not too agreeable after all. Brain screams 'puke', body screams 'f*cking hold on man'. *sigh*
Next was Political Science class. I had a 'group' work due, and only Miko sent in his part. I did the rest by myself. *grr* Anyway, whatever. Then I realized. My thumb drive is still on my laptop. This was the moment I went ZOMFG. *grr* Really annoying. I explained it as briefly as I could to Miss France (no shyt, that's her name) but I mentioned nothing about the lack of participation from my team. She wanted to mark all of us as 'late' but here I made a decision. I would take it for the team. It's not noble or anything; I just figured it's better I get all the deductions rather than the rest. Better one than all five. I have until Wednesday. Must remember.
Then it rained.
It was a freaking rainbath (as opposed to bloodbath). I swear it was biblical in proportion. It suited my mood then though. Luckily Aldz and Decky accompanied me in Z-Squared while I studied and waited for the rain to stop. Of course it didn't, so Aldz and I decided to chill at La Salle's McDonald's. At least the horrid day was cooling off. Aldz introduced me to Nicole and Elaine. Elaine had to go walk back alone along Taft under the rain. Like hell I'll let that happen. It's notorious Taft. Chicks walk with pepper sprays after 6pm here. So I grabbed my cute little tartan umbrella and walked her to her condo. At least I was sure she got home safe.
Ah so it's back to Aldz and I again. Raining heavily, so we huddled under my umbrella and walked the 15 minutes to Andrew. His car was parked behind, at the place ironically named The Beach (no beach in sight, mind you). Thank God Aldz sent me home. Otherwise I'd be soaked in the jeep.
There goes an eventful day in the life of The Jay.
Tomorrow, hopefully it's a lot better, and do wish me luck in my application to be a La Salle Ambassador.
On a very happy note:
Happy 19th birthday Vincent Lau!
Brother, friend, and prefect mate!
Long live the Chicken Board of 2004/2005! *grins*
PS. Why is my campus nickname still Malaysian? I thought people know my name now.

Recap
First of all my readers, I apologize for not updating as often as I should have had.
University's really stressful and going for Dean's List isn't such a piece of cake either, especially in a school like La Salle.
Here's what happened so far.
I made a ton of new friends.
There's the English Communication class people like Hira, Trish, Xyra, JC, Joseph, Trish 2 (the Spanish wake-boarder), Joy, Ara, Imma, and Jess.
The Skittlez Crew, Decky, Matt aka G-Fab, Fabulous Fabi, Aldz, Nika, Liz Beth, Ann (the 'gay' one), and Kevin.
The Anthropology babes, Ice and Kisha.
Plus the Political Science boys, Roberto, Miko, Ron, Monti, Kevin, Hans, Rian, Ferdinand and Hiram (both La Salle varsity basketball players), and Carlo.
Not to mention the assorted guys and gals around campus like Luis, Deanna, Dianne, Marisse, and Carlo.
Looking good. *smiles*
Saturday, last night, we hit Fabulous Fabi's crib for his little birthday party. He lives in Katipunan, which is the home territory of Ateneo, La Salle's biggest rivals. Understandably, we all wore all colors except green. *grins* It took 2 LRT rides to get to Fabi's place. Once there, we were required to 'dance'. 3 of us were Krumpinoy members, and Kevin and I are dancers, so okay, we did a little thing there in Fabi's living room. Then we hit Warehouse.
For my Malaysian dudes, Warehouse, or Warehouse 135, is a club.
It was fun. I was not allowed to bring my little messenger bag so I left my camera in there too. The place was freaking full but at least beer's cheap and the babes look good.
Neil, G-Fab, Decky, Kevin.
Neil, me, Decky, Kevin. I don't know about the pout thing. Hmm..
Soap can't quite clean up the Warehouse tag.
We partied at Warehouse until pretty late, and as it's in Makati, heck, I was too tired to go home and crashed at Decky's place. Went home at 7am.
Now it's 1.50pm and I should be getting back to my Political Science assignment.
Cheers.

Death Predictor
Click this: Death Predictor
Jason Cruz: At age 68 a large monkey will beat you to death, using the antiquated art of fisticuffs.
I find that mildly disturbing.
However, I would be the first to admit that an awesome death is a lot cooler than, say, dying in my sleep.
Plus my grandkids need to impress the other kids in the canteen.
"Your grandad was hit by a truck? No way! Mine was beaten fugly by a gorilla."
Now that's what you call bragging rights.

Miss Teen Carolina
An exemplary example of a dumb biatch air-headed blonde bimbo.
You can't argue with that.
I personally believe.
Now go stand outside your house naked holding a map.
Count to 5. When nothing happens, you need a new map.

A.M. Chaos
I didn't know a 19-year old professional bum can get so much done in one morning.
Long Post! Read at your own discretion.
Chapter 1: The Malaysian Embassy, Salcedo Village.
At 9am, I went to the gas station a few minutes walk from my apartment and waited for a taxi. Surprisingly, I found one almost immediately. Dressed in a light blue shirt and a silver tie, I guess the cabbie didn't want to lose business from me. *grins* Having directed him to 107, Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village, Makati, I stepped off, shirt lightly creased and tie looking sharp. I am at the Malaysian Embassy, Manila.
There I went to the guard and he told me to wait outside. (Trivia: The sun rises at 5am here in Manila and it's freaking hot by 8am. What more 9am). Ah, but beggars can't be choosers. After almost an hour I was let in, along with what looked to be some ladies applying for Visas (and we all know for what).
I was went there to get my Malaysian certificates authenticated and certified and also translated. PhP150.00 each. Darn. No choice though, as I am probably the only one in DLSU-M who knows what "Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia" means. There, I met with Mr. Rosli, Consulate Officer of the Malaysian Embassy, Manila.
"Come back on Thursday to get it. We are preparing for a late Merdeka celebration."
Where I promptly replied that La Salle gave me until Wednesday (tomorrow) to get my documents done.
"Tell them to take it or leave it."
You can't argue with logic like that.
Chapter 2: DLSU-M Admission Office, Br. Andrew Gonzalez Hall, Taft Avenue.
With my shirt now a little more creased, but tie still looking sharp, I went to a bank and withdrew some money, as the translation fees bled me pretty badly. Then, hailing a cab, I went to Taft, to see Mr. Sol, Head of Admissions, DLSU.
Queuing up for just a while (La Salle never lets you wait too long) I went to Counter 4, and they asked me, as usual, to go to Counter 1. Counter 1 happens to be Mr. Sol's domain. I then told him that I cannot possibly get the documents ready by Wednesday, and I needed a time extension.
"Last name please."
"Cruz, sir."
Cruz.. *shuffles through papers* The Malaysian school guy?"
"Yes sir."
Do you have any certification from the Education Department that you can study in a University?"
"Yes sir. *shows him certificate from ED* This one sir."
"Using what qualifications?"
"My SPM sir, as I do not have 4th year high school. I did five. That's in fact, a lot better than just having four years. I also have my A-Levels. *shows him the nice shiny British piece of paper* See sir, I actually exceed the requirements."
"Well then, I'll give you until the 7th. So that means latest by Friday."
"Thank you sir".
Once again, my big mouth saves me.
I like Mr. Sol. He's cool.
Chapter 3: La Salle's McDonald's, Taft Avenue.
An hour before noon. My chicken meatloaf breakfast was long burned away, and with my shirt not so neat but my tie looking sharp, McDonald's beckoned me. Oh yes, I will never forsake you, o tempting creation of one Mr. Ray Kroc.
Yes, La Salle has a McDonald's about 20 steps away from Gate 1. Yes, my school rocks.
And I hate getting proved wrong.
Dammit. La Salle has gorgeous females. And they all happen to like eating Double Cheeseburgers and/or McDonald's Fried Chicken. I swear almost all that I saw ordered those.
No seat, so the guard asked me to join a group of people and I ate there. *dammit* Then, they suddenly wanted to take pictures. I offered to take it for them, but they declined, and now, I am most probably going to be appearing in one of those people's Friendsters eating a greasy Quarter-pounder. *dammit*
Time to go home. It's 11.20am.
Chapter 4: The Jeepney Ride, from Taft Avenue to Zobel Roxas Road.
Shirt pretty messed up now, but tie still looking sharp, I boarded a jeep.
Nothing much happened in the jeep, but I had a really funny text conversation with Luis.
"Oi, are you feeling better tol?"
"I just woke up. Still sick but I'm better.
"Okay then. Your mum's getting your results at Andrew Gonzalez now?"
"She left a minutes ago. Should be there soon."
"Okies. Oh yeah, I saw the cute girl from the exam room at the Hall."
LOL. What's her name?"
"I don't know. Can't be bothered. She was at seat #14 though."
"Then from now on she will be known to us as Number Fourteen."
That's what I call "LOL Material".
Chapter 5: Home, Agata Street, San Andres Bukid, Manila.
I had to take a shower.
I was sweating a lot and my shirt was f'd. Tie looking sharp, I enter this little apartment I call home. The shower looked like Jessica Alba in a satin nightie at that moment. Absolutely tempting. Absolutely irresistible.
Shower. A long one. Topped up by a scrub. Yes, I use facial scrub. No, I'm not David Beckham. I have better hair anyway. I still have not found a better scrub than St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It's so good, it's stupid.
I am at my laptop.
You are reading this.
I'm gonna go play Sleuth.

Entrance Exam Part 2
So.. It's the 3rd of September. La Salle exam entrance results are out (read blog post about it for more info).
Guess what?
Number 1. You do not need to know the long name I have.
Number 2. You do not need to ask what it is.
Point being, I am IN!!
w00t!!
What better way to celebrate than by splurging a little.
That's right. Esprit and Belgian waffles. *wub Starbucks*
Didn't get to meet up with Luis today (We planned a DoTA afternoon celebrations as he was sure I'll be accepted and I was sure he'll be accepted, but neither of us sure ourselves will be accepted. Don't bother, it's complicated) as he caught a fever (while I got mine last week) so yeah, I was stag at SB. Get well soon tol.
I now have TOMORROW (yes, one day) to go to the Malaysian Embassy and get my SPM certificate, which happens to be in Malay, certified as a high school document. Gonna be busy busy busy tomorrow. I have to submit all documents by Wednesday.
I need to go shopping. I just realized I don't even have a notepad yet.

Sleuth Ranked 3
Well well. I ended up my stint at the Novice Detectives (younger than 10 days) today and I ended it at 3. That's right, I am in the Top 3. If you look at #1 and #4, they also belong to my agency. *grins* We rock don't we now.
Sleuth is an online community game in which you play as a detective.
I subscribed, so I could do more cases and join an agency. I was finally snapped up by EyeSpy Investigations, which also happens to be the top agency in the game.
For more information, visit http://playsleuth.com/
I've recommended this game to a lot of people and it's really addictive. =)
